Leaving a little room for detours

An argument for following an interesting question without knowing where it leads.

Not every interesting thing needs to become a project. Sometimes a question is worth following simply because it makes the world a little less familiar.

A conversation, a walk, or an unrelated book can shift how we see a problem. The connection is rarely obvious at the beginning.

Attention without an agenda

There is a difference between having no direction and leaving room for surprise. A little unstructured attention can be a useful complement to focused work.

This corner of the internet is meant to leave space for both: the work with a clear question, and the things that are still finding their shape.
